Swearing-in 2022.

Public Service is a privilege. I’m humbled beyond measure for the trust the communities have placed in me. When I have sworn in 4 years ago, I wasn’t sure there could have been a greater honor. The mere fact that the overwhelming majority of the residents of Parma, Parma Heights, and Seven Hills have stood with me as I’ve defended Public education, used my voice to amplify those whose voices have muffled or whose worth who has been previously measured by imposition. But most importantly as I have advocated for our students in every way possible.

Tonight a page turns, I’m grateful for the opportunity to have added a new voice at our table. With the addition of Mr. Ruda to our Board. Mark, I’m hopeful with your perspective we can continue to move the needle of progress forward. To Jack, Steve, and Cyndee, I’m humbled to continue my work serving with you.

I have said this many times, but it is worth repeating;

“We honor the uniqueness of each individual and embrace diverse backgrounds, values, and points of view to build a strong, inclusive community and to prepare students for lives in a multicultural society.”

And that’s exactly what I promise to do every single day as your Vice President of the Board of Education.
